The Heaver Estate was built around the turn of the last century and mainly comprises substantial houses with high ceilings, ornate Victorian architecture and generous room sizes.

‘The Heaver’, which is now largely a Conservation Area, is roughly bordered by Balham High Road, Tooting Bec Common and Bedford Hill. The area is well served by public transport, including Northern Line underground, mainline trains and numerous bus routes along Balham High Road.

Described in the original lettings particulars as ‘The Finest Estate in London’, the area fell into decline in the post-war years and had a serious overcrowding problem in the 1960’s. However, the past 15-20, or so, years have seen accelerating re-gentrification and the area has become highly desirable.
